What's involved?

This includes a subjective assessment through conversation and a physical examination to evaluate posture, range of motion, muscle imbalances, and areas of pain or tenderness. The assessment helps the therapist understand the client's needs, identify areas of focus, and develop a personalised treatment plan.

Process

Initial Assessment
Ellie will begin with a brief assessment to understand your physical activity level, areas of tension, pain points, and any injury history. This helps her personalise the massage to meet your specific needs, so please be sure to include relevant information on your pre-assessment form.

Based on your assessment, Ellie will provide 30-45 minutes of massage, and dry needling may be included if appropriate. If you would like to schedule a longer appointment for more comprehensive treatment, please feel free to email or WhatsApp Ellie to discuss availability.

Warm-Up Techniques
Light, broad strokes are used to warm up the muscles, increase circulation, and prepare the tissue for deeper work. This phase helps reduce tension gradually and makes the muscles more receptive.

Deep Tissue Techniques
Using firm pressure, Ellie targets deeper muscle layers to release tightness and knots.
Techniques may include:
Trigger Point Therapy: Applying direct pressure to tight points to release muscle tension.
Myofascial Release: Gently stretching the fascia (connective tissue) to relieve restrictions and improve movement.
Cross-Fibre Friction: Working against the muscle fibres to break down adhesions and improve muscle flexibility.

Stretching and Mobilisation
Dynamic and static stretches are often incorporated to improve flexibility and range of motion.
Joint mobilisations may also be included to enhance movement in stiff or restricted areas.

Post-Treatment Advice
At the end of your session, your physiotherapist may provide advice on stretches, exercises, or hydration tips to maintain the benefits of the massage and support your recovery.
